The Children’s Advocacy Center of Charlotte (formerly known as Pat’s Place) is a nonprofit organization that coordinates the investigation, prosecution, and treatment of the most severe cases of child abuse in Mecklenburg County.

The CAC of Charlotte engaged us to deliver a video to be shown at their annual Everyday Heroes Luncheon. Previously, their organization had only worked with one other video company to create fundraising videos, which were primarily focused on services and brand identity. The goal we were tasked with was exploring a new creative direction that would highlight the stories of those behind their organization’s important work.

Inspired by the event’s title “Everyday Heroes", we developed our concept around a question at the core of those involved with the work of the CAC: “What’s your Why?” We interviewed four individuals who shared the personal stories that motivate their efforts, continued support, and praise for the organization. We delivered a 7 minute video that was shown during the luncheon, held at the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte, N.C.

Beyond the video, “What’s Your Why?” was developed into a larger marketing campaign in Spring of 2025. Our final task was celebrating the Everyday Heroes who work at the CAC of Charlotte through a series of social network reels where they briefly answered the question, “What’s Your Why?”. The result was an impactful series of short videos showcasing the voice of the people waking up everyday and contributing to this important mission.
